Farewell hugs and house dedications ended the Carter Work Project this year with progress made on building more than 250 decent, affordable houses with Habitat homeowners along the Gulf of Mexico from Mobile to Houston. But the real test of the project is whether volunteers will come back again themselves and inspire new volunteers to build more houses on the still wounded American coastline. Habitat for Humanity is committed to going the distance in the Gulf.
