Habitat on the Hill
Habitat for Humanity International’s Annual Legislative Conference
Habitat on the Hill 2016: Framing the Future took place on February 2-4, 2016, at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Habitat on the Hill 2016 marked Habitat’s 10th annual legislative conference, during which advocates for decent housing, including Habitat staff members, board members, homeowners, volunteers and youth from across the country, gather in Washington, D.C. They discussed Habitat’s legislative priorities and held face-to-face meetings with lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
With the presidential election on the horizon, the theme of the 2016 conference, “Framing the Future,” captured our focus on the housing challenges ahead, the policy solutions to address them and equipping housing advocates with the tools to shape the future of housing.
Plenary speakers for Habitat on the Hill 2016 included Ron Fournier, senior political columnist and editorial director of National Journal, and Ronald Terwilliger, founder of the J. Ronald Terwilliger Foundation, among others. On the final day of the conference, attendees focused on Solid Ground, Habitat’s global advocacy campaign on access to land for shelter.
Habitat on the Hill 2017 will take place on January 31 – February 2 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Registration will open in October 2017.
