Campus Chapters and Youth Programs -- Africa/Middle East

‘Let no man despise the youth, but be thou an example of the believers’

(1Timothy 4:12)

The Africa and Middle East area has a growing number of Campus Chapters and Community Youth groups more than ever in its history. This area has got a high number of developing countries which often seek support, advice and mentorship from developed countries in order to have more efficient and effective programs.

These programs are created so as to capture the imagination, energy and hope of young people in order to productively and responsibly involve them in the work of Habitat for Humanity.

‘Knowledge in youth is wisdom in age’

Young people are encouraged to participate by bringing their:

    • Enthusiasm

    • Support to affiliates worldwide today, through serving as volunteers, raise awareness of HFH and fundraise.

    • Help in eradicating poverty housing

    • Become leaders of social change.

    • CCYP is a leadership training ground for future partners in advancing the vision of Habitat.

‘Don’t waste your youth growing up’

Therefore be part of a revolution in:

    • Building or rehabilitating houses in partnership with Habitat affiliates and homeowners.

    • Educating the campus and local community about affordable housing issues and the work of Habitat for Humanity.

    • Raising funds for the work of Habitat

Why is it important?
Building houses does more than help provide shelter for those in need: it fosters friendship, breaks down barriers and changes lives. Students in campus chapters develop and execute activities for the year, from coordinating the volunteers who build on site to planning fund-raising and educational events. Building houses in partnership with families and other volunteers’ benefits everyone involved.
