Build-a-Thon 2013 event coverage

Below are firsthand reports and photos from each of the 2013 Build-a-Thon build sites

   

June 2-8: Pensacola Habitat for Humanity (Pensacola, Fla.)

AmeriCorps members helped rehabilitate four homes and took part in a comprehensive neighborhood revitalization project that included repairing sidewalks, cleaning up a vacant lot and assorted other jobs that will make the community more vibrant and livable.

   

June 1-5: Habitat’s Veterans Build on the Mall (Washington, D.C.)

AmeriCorps members joined military veterans and active service personnel to frame seven houses on the National Mall that will be shipped to Habitat affiliates in the D.C. metro area to become homes for seven families.

   

May 19-24: Habitat for Humanity of Seattle-King County (Washington)

AmeriCorps members worked on 23 new homes in Seattle and Tacoma and took part in a community cleanup project.

   

May 6-11: Wild Rivers Habitat for Humanity (St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin)

AmeriCorps members helped build and rehab homes, including 10 with veterans of military service.

   

April 21-26: Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter Florida (Eustis, Fla.)

AmeriCorps members helped to build and rehab homes and construct an open-air community market.
