10 Habitat for Humanity ReStore items to help fix up your home

With the holidays upon us, remember that your local Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a great place to shop and to donate. These nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers sell just what you’ll need to improve your home — at a fraction of the retail price. And in the process, you help improve the lives of those in need of a simple, decent and affordable place to live.

Here are 10 items most commonly purchased or donated to ReStores:

1. Appliances

From big appliances such as in-demand stainless steel dishwashers to blenders for your counter top, we have a great selection.

2. Cabinets

Give your kitchen that dream makeover you’ve been wanting and save a few dollars, too.

3. New and used furniture

Looking for pieces with character? Check out our dinettes, bookcases, desks, chairs and more.

4. Household goods

We’re the perfect place to find those treasured items that will decorate any room in your home.

5. Building materials

Starting from scratch? Check out our two-by-fours, nails, bricks, drywall and more.

6. Windows

Great for your home or as part of your latest DIY project.

7. Doors

Perfect as a door, of course, or as a coat stand or headboard.

8. Lighting

In the mood to update your lighting? Set the right one with our floor lamps, table lamps and ceiling lighting.

9. Tile flooring

We carry overstock tile for your kitchen and bathroom makeovers.

10. Plumbing

We have all kinds of parts to fix or upgrade your plumbing.

Remember: Habitat ReStores are proudly owned and operated by local Habitat affiliates, and proceeds are used to build homes, community and hope locally and around the world. Shop (or donate goods) and support Habitat!

Hi Brian,

The items in each ReStore vary, as they are all independent and the stock depends on what is donated. You can find your nearest ReStore and how to contact them here:  http://www.habitat.org/env/restores.aspx

Cheers,

Megan
