Building together -- north, south, east and west. More than 1 million people around the globe are living in safe, affordable homes built in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. More than 1.6 billion, though, are living in dangerous, unhealthy conditions. Habitat’s mission -- international in scope and local in approach -- is to help eliminate substandard housing worldwide. Team members from Habitat for Humanity International travel around the world to share great success stories within the Habitat family and to document the ongoing need for decent shelter.

Brazil
Habitat for Humanity began working with low-income families in Brazil in 1992 and has built more than 2,800 houses in six Brazilian states. Hear some of their stories and learn more about how Habitat Brazil is working to move families out of shanty towns and into safe, decent housing.
