‘Coming together perfectly’ -- Habitat for Humanity Int'l 1
June 4, 2008‘Coming together perfectly’
We arrived on site today to find the drywall crew just finishing up the sanding! Although this was the plan all along, it was still a relief to see that it all worked out. Our entire day was built on the completion of the drywall – nice job Cortes Construction!
The trim and cabinet teams from Stock Building Supply then swarmed the home for the rest of the morning. This is always a scary step because everyone knows that if there are any missing or damaged cabinet parts it could take weeks to receive a new shipment. Fortunately, everything came together perfectly.
By lunch, the house was turned back over to Cortes Construction for the priming and painting. Once again, these guys performed beautifully! We are very lucky to have such a great team.
On the outside, the siding is complete. The stairs and deck are wrapping up. We even cleaned up the yard so that we will be ready for the final grading and landscaping tomorrow. Cesar comes to visit at the end of each day, and it is fun to watch him absorb the progress and walk through the home that will be his by Friday evening!
Just a note of thanks to the Garman Homes team…John, Chris, Mitch, Mike – you guys have made it happen out there. Thank you! I am proud to work with a group that takes such pride in “Giving it Back” to Habitat for Humanity.
