No casualties -- Habitat for Humanity Int'l 1
June 5, 2008No casualties
We had about 800 people working the 16 houses today and 800 are still kicking! We had a truck hit a subcontractor's van – thankfully with no injuries.
The dirt is getting less “Dust Bowl-ish” with all the sod going down yesterday on most lots. We have completed the house other than the landscaping. All the flooring went in, trim and cabinets. We got to turn the air conditioning on which is nice with our 90-degree weather! I finally got to use a real flushing toilet which I truly appreciate now! I even bought 10 rolls of toilet paper just in case!
The final day is now upon us. I think all the builders are in zombie mode with limited amounts of sleep, all the hard work and the heat! It has been well worth it but I know we are very ready to be finished today.
