What you can do to help in your community -- Habitat for Humanity Int'l 1
What you can do to help in your community
Home Builders Blitz 2008 is a nationwide effort to help provide affordable housing for those most in need, starting in your own backyard. As a member of the building industry, here’s what you can do.
Builders
As a professional homebuilder, you can partner with your local Habitat for Humanity affiliate to build a home in your area. Affiliates will provide the land, foundation, family and house plans. You can leverage your relationships in the building industry to seek donations of materials and labor to construct a house at the lowest cost possible to Habitat. Then, during the week of May 31–June 7, 2008, you and your crew of subcontractors and employees will build a Habitat home. A list of participating affiliates will be available soon. Please check this page regularly for updates, or contact the Home Builders Blitz office to inquire about the status of a project in your area.
Subcontractors and tradespeople
Whether your expertise is in plumbing, carpentry, electrical work or another area, your skills are in high demand. You can also talk to builders with whom you work and encourage them to participate and support this worthwhile project. A list of participating affiliates will be available soon. Please check this page regularly for updates, or contact the Home Builders Blitz office to inquire about the status of a project in your area.
Construction Material Suppliers
Donated home-building materials are greatly needed and appreciated. If you can donate locally, please contact the Habitat affiliate in your area. (A list of participating affiliates will be available soon. Please check this page regularly for updates, or contact the Home Builders Blitz office to inquire about the status of a project in your area.) You can also make a financial donation to Habitat online.
