Madison Co HFH is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.
Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.

All winter we have been working on our latest house at 1603 West 12th street here in Anderson. We're making great progress. The drywall is up. Volunteers are needed to help with finish work which will include painting, trim work, cabinet and door installation, and more. All skill levels are needed. Remember, with Habitat it is not a problem if you don't have a specific skill level. We will match you with someone who does. What a great way to learn a new skill and give to a great cause! We will be working on these houses every Wednesday and Saturday from 8:00 am to noon. We need your help to accomplish this goal. Please call 765-649-4260 for additional information. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Get Involved
Volunteers may call 765-649-4260 to schedule group volunteers. Normal work days during the summer months are Wednesday and Saturday starting at 8:00 am.
We always have openings on our Board of Directors. There are many ways you can serve. We would love to talk with you about how you can best fit in with HFH. Remember, there are many ways that you can serve, some of which require no knowledge of construction!
Applicants for home ownership may apply at 931 Meridian Street, Suite 102, Anderson, Indiana, between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm weekdays. This is located on the first floor of the National City Bank Building. Our board president is Shirley Weatherly. Messages may be left for her at the local office.
