Home

Meriwether County HFH is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.

Hammers

Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.

News

Planning has started for our annual Building On Faith Rally that will be held on Saturday, September, 30th 2006 at the Manchester High School Auditorium. We'll start things off at 5:00 PM and invite everyone to come and join us for music and fellowship as we share the mission and vision of Habitat for Humanity in our community.

If you have musical talent and are interested in participating please contact us and tell us what you'd like to do. We can be reached by phone at 706-672-4007 and by email hfhmc1@bellsouth.net

We have completed our 12th house and held a dedication ceremony May 27th for the Tiggs family, our newest homeowner partner. Thanks to all the volunteers and donors who helped make the Tiggs family dream of a simple, decent house a reality!

Currently, due to the enormous need of decent and affordable housing, our limited resources do not allow for us to accept home ownership applications at this time. Please check back periodically as information on obtaining applications will be posted here when we begin taking applications again.

Help us eliminate substandard housing in our community! It's quick, easy and safe to support the house-building, hope-building work of Meriwether County HFH through Habitat for Humanity International's secure online donation system. You can even send a gift card announcing your donation in honor of a loved one or a special occasion.

The Habitat for Humanity International web site contains more information on Habitat's history, mission, volunteer opportunities and contact information for other Habitat affiliates around the world.
