Rapides HFH is a locally run affiliate of
Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for
Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The
houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses. Back To Top |

 We continue to build in the new Alsace Lorraine Subdivision, with three houses currently under construction. Volunteers are always welcomeOut of state volunteers are welcome as well! We enjoy great weather throughout the fall and winter. We'll be happy to help you find the right accomodations for your group. Our annual Spring Blitz is the 2nd week of March each year. |

We are happy to work with all types of volunteers. Volunteers must be 16 to work construction, but younger youth (14-15) can help with staining, landscaping, etc. Just call the office at (318) 449-9804 to make arrangements. Our committees also need volunteers. Office hours are 8:30-5:00, Monday through Friday. RHFH accepts applications following orientation meetings. We hold application meetings on during February and August, usually on the 2nd Thursday. Call the office (449-9804) for specific dates, times and locations. |
