Home

Tri-County Area HFH is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.

Hammers

Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.

Tri-County Area HFH launches ACBHHH (Aluminum Cans Build Habitat for Humanity Homes) thanks to Boy Scout Troop #143! We would like to thank the troop, the troop leaders, and their families for taking on this aluminum can recycling program. The boys will be placing specially marked recycling bins around the community and regularly hauling the collected cans to a local recycling plant with all proceeds going to the affiliate. Bravo boys! Want to know more about ACBHHH, just visit the program's web site at http://www.cansforhabitat.org, and don't forget to keep checking back here as we post the Troop's collection results every month! We eagerly look forward to 2003 with plans to build three more homes, the first being on Lincoln Street in Carrollton. Our goal of three homes is made possible by our friends at Thrivent Financial, Sisters of Charity, L. Hoover Foundation, and many local service clubs like Rotary. We hope you have plans to come and build with us this year. We're beginning to schedule our volunteers for the upcoming build. Interested? Call our office to find out when you can work and what we'll be doing on each day of the build.
