Home

UCBHFH is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.

Hammers

Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.

Our affiliate headquarters and the UCBHFH Thrift Store is in Quincy. We have wonderful volunteers who make the store a great place to shop. Look for antiques, collectibles, clothing, books, household items, and much more. To volunteer, or shop, go to 223 2nd Ave. in Quincy or call Sally at 509.787.2144 for more info.

Store hours during Daylight Savings Time months are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday; 11am-5pm. Winter hours are until 4pm. We accept donations during those hours. If you need to drop off items at other times, call 787.2144 to make sure someone is there to collect them. Thank you! We could not continue to build homes without the funds raised at the UCBHFH Thrift Store. It is the vital piece for our affiliate.

If you or someone you know is in need of decent, affordable housing, please call our office at 509.787.2144 for more information about the process of applying for a Habitat home. Feel free to email us at habitat@genext.net anytime.
