Decide what you want to do with your paid tax in Hungary!

1.2 million people in Hungary live in overcrowded conditions.

1% for Improved Housing

The 1% Law enables the 4.6 million taxpayers in Hungary to contribute to the activities of non-profit organizations – taxpayers can request the tax authorities to transfer 1% of their previous year’s paid income tax to help support an organization of their choice without any loss to their income. As the majority of these organizations receive no direct funding from the state, the 1% facility is very important to them as it provides a large portion of their funding.

How to assign your 1%:

The Hungarian Tax Authority (APEH) provides a small white form with the main tax form, entitled "Rendelkező nyilatkozat a befizetett adó egy százalékáról" (Declaration on designating 1% of paid personal income tax). On this you should write the tax number of the organisation you wish to allocate your 1% to, and enclose it in an envelope with your tax papers to be posted by you or your accountant. Write your name, address and personal tax identification number on the front of the envelope, seal it and sign the back of the envelope across the sealed flap.

Please consider Habitat for Humanity Hungary, designate your 1% and help more families have a decent, affordable home and break the cycle of poverty.

When it is time to complete your tax forms, fill in the 1% pledge form, attached to your tax package (“Rendelkezõ nyilatkozat a befizetett adó egy százalékáról”), with the following:

Name of the NGO: Habitat for Humanity Magyarország Alapítvány
Tax number: 18672772-2-42

The Hungarian Tax office will submit your donation to us.
