Students' challenge to raise funds

Enjoying ten applicants for every place on the annual Global Village team, Wesley College in Dublin has developed a very successful long-term partnership with Habitat for Humanity in Beius, Romania. In the second year of this service-learning program, Wesley students accepted a challenge to raise 10,000€ to fund an accelerated build – covering the cost of materials and constructing a home from start to finish in one week. In June, to celebrate their ten-year partnership, Wesley will join the pan-European YouthBUILD 2013, sending 200 students and 50 parents and staff to Beius along with funding to build ten homes with families in need.

What is next?
Habitat wants people not only to read about poverty housing but do something to fight it. You can support Habitat’s work in Europe Middle East and Africa in a number of ways. Here are some examples:
