Bush visits Habitat site on Gulf Coast trip

During his 11th visit to Louisiana since Hurricane Katrina, President George W. Bush joined Governor Kathleen Blanco, U.S. Rep. William Jefferson and New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin on a tour of rebuilding that included Habitat for Humanity's Musicians' Village neighborhood project. While on the Habitat site, the group set trusses and hammered alongside one another, bantering and building together.

Among President Bush's messages during his April 27 trip was the ongoing need for volunteers in New Orleans and elsewhere throughout the Gulf Coast. Volunteer opportunities are currently available with Habitat for Humanity.
