- Program donation:
Each Habitat Global Village volunteer makes a donation to help further the Habitat host program’s construction, repair and shelter solutions as well as Habitat for Humanity International’s program activities.
- Volunteer logistics:
Volunteer logistics include accommodations, meals, local transportation, and some local cultural activities.
- Health and safety:
Each Habitat Global Village volunteer is enrolled in a travel medical insurance policy. All trip costs include a contingency.
- Volunteer team coordination:
Each trip is individually coordinated for volunteers by a trip leader and the Habitat host program. Expenses may include on the ground staff costs, translators, orientation materials, first aid supplies and a team leader’s expenses.
The budget range listed here does not include team leader costs, but team leaders may incorporate their costs into the budget. The team leader may pay or fundraise for all or a portion of his or her own expenses or incorporate some or all of his or her trip cost and airfare in the team budget.
Trip cost posted on the online GV Trip Catalog for team leaders does not include:
- Participant airfare.
- Rest and recreation activities beyond local cultural activities.
- Visa and exit fees (not applicable for all destinations).
- Trip cancellation insurance.
- Budgets will be reviewed periodically and are subject to change.
