For a chance to join the ranks of former Habitat World essay contest winners Frann Anderson (India 2006), Amy Stark (Los Angeles 2007) and Kraig Koschnick (U.S. Gulf Coast 2008), tell us why you choose to support Habitat for Humanity.
By entering Habitat World’s Carter Work Project essay contest, you could win a trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand, to join hundreds of volunteers during this year’s Carter Work Project in November.
If your essay is selected, Habitat World will pay your air transportation and event fees, which include modest daily accommodations and meals. The winning essayist is expected to work a full day at the build site during each of the five work days, scheduled for November 15–20.
The essay topic is, “In 500 words or less, give us your definition of “home” and describe why you choose to volunteer for and/or donate to Habitat for Humanity.”
No forms are necessary; simply e-mail your essay to habitatworld@habitat.org or mail to
