Join 12-13 participants from around the country in Bennington County, Vermont, which is located in the mountain region of southern Vermont. The build site is situated in Manchester, Vt., a rural, beautiful and wonderfully vibrant arts haven and popular resort community which lacks affordable housing. Summer will be in full swing in this part of New England where the daytime temperature will be in the 80s and the evenings will be in the 70s. August brings mostly sunshine, fresh air and temperatures conducive to the building experience. The team will be living in small guest houses owned and maintained by Bennington College in Bennington, Vt.
This is the sixth Global Village build hosted by the Bennington Area affiliate – an affiliate that was founded in 1997 and has built 14 homes to date. The team will be working on two homes on Jennifer Lane in Manchester during the summer of 2013. This is the third and fourth of an 11-home development planned for this neighborhood. Taking on a project of this magnitude is unique in scope for Vermont Habitat affiliates.
Please see the affiliate website for more information: www.benningtonareahabitat.com. Photos of the Jennifer Lane development can be seen on the photo gallery.
