Join us for a volunteer trip to one of the most beautiful destinations in America. On this Global Village trip, you’ll help a family obtain a safe, decent and affordable home and experience Hawaii’s gorgeous landscape and rich culture.
Our team will help in most stages of home construction, from clearing buildable land of invasive cane grass, digging footings, raising walls and roofing to finishing interiors with flooring or cabinetry.
During your time off, you can experience traditional Hawaiian culture through luau, touring historic Hanapepe Town during Friday night Art Walk, visiting the Kauai Coffee Visitors center, relaxing at a beautiful beach, hiking along the Maha‘ulepu trail, biking the Ke Ala Hele Makalae coastal bike path and much more.
Global Village sends volunteers to build with Habitat for Humanity projects across the world. Get your hands dirty on the worksite, meet the families whose housing situation you are improving, experience the country like an insider, and do it all alongside a team of like-minded volunteers. No experience required! This build is your next step with Habitat to make the world a better place.

Have questions? Ready to join the team? Jan Roberta will lead this team in the field and would love to speak with you.
Jan’s favorite GV memory from her many trips to Kauai, “We were working on the current volunteer house and we had the opportunity to raise the first walls for the house. It was a profound and emotional moment for all of us on the team and we still talk about how it felt, years later. I also remember waking up to the roosters out at Kahili Park, and the wonderful double rainbows that we saw most afternoons when we were done working.”
