You are here

Bolivia

November 7, 2014 to November 16, 2014

Travel to Cochabamba, where Habitat for Humanity Bolivia is based, and see how Habitat is transforming the country, one family at a time. You’ll share meals with national office staff and hear about how you’re helping them increase their impact to serve more Bolivians in need of decent shelter.

Arrive in the village, meet your partner family, and use honeycomb bricks to build a simple, decent house. You will visit homes built by previous teams, so you will see how families’ lives are changed by adequate shelter.

Plus, enjoy Bolivia like a local. Eat delicious local cuisine, take in a night of dance and visit one of the largest markets in South America. You can pick up anything from fresh vegetables to a traditional Bolivian guitar.

Join other like-minded volunteers in Bolivia, and come home reinvigorated.

Apply now to join this Global Village team, or email questions to team leader Emily Fortman.

Have questions? Ready to join the team? Emily Fortman will lead this team in the field and would love to speak with you.

Emily  says, “On each of my GV trips, I meet the children of the partner families we work with. Each child makes a lasting impression on me and proves Habitat’s efforts are not only providing decent shelter, but giving children a secure place to grow and learn. Sometimes I cannot verbally communicate with these children, but I can show them the world is filled with people who travel outside of their comfort zone to help others. Habitat builds homes, but more importantly, affords stability to children around the world.”
