About Helena, Montana
Helena is the capitol city of Montana. The city has a population of approximately 30,000, and the largest employer is state government. Nestled against the eastern front of the Rocky Mountains, near the scenic Missouri River, Helena is a historic town with an Old West culture and unparalleled natural beauty. 

About Helena Area HFH
Helena Area Habitat for Humanity has built 29 homes since opening in 1992. This Summer’s Global Village Team Members will be a demolition crew! They will be demolishing and disposing of an old building to make way for the construction of a new home.

Itinerary
Eight-day itinerary

Day 1 (Arrival day, Sunday, July 7): Greeted at the airport by team leader and driven to lodging site for team meeting and welcome dinner.
Day 2 (Monday, July 8): Demolition work for the day; tour historic Helena by night.
Day 3 (Tuesday, July 9): Demolition work for the day; take a Rocky Mountain nature hike in the early evening.
Day 4 (Wednesday, July 10): Demolition work for the day then have a free night.
Day 5  (Thursday, July 11): Demolition work for the day - Visit the Montana Historical Society in the evening.
Day 6 (Friday, July 12): Demolition work for the day then have a free night.
Day 7 (Saturday, July 13): Boat tour to The Gates of the Mountains Wilderness, then attend the farewell award and wild west barbecue event.
Day 8 (Sunday, July 14): Depart from Helena: team leader will drive the team to the airport for their flights home. 

Accomodations
The team will stay in comfortable quad-style dormitories at beautiful Carroll College. Four separate bedrooms share a common bathroom, living room and kitchenette. Breakfast will be offered at the college; snacks and lunch will be brought to the construction site; and dinners will be held in a variety of volunteer homes, churches and restaurants.

Team Leader
Melony Bruhn has been the executive director of Helena Area Habitat for Humanity for the last 11 years. Mel has hosted 13 Global Village teams. She is enthusiastic and has an extensive knowledge of western culture and history. Your Habitat experience in Helena, Mont., will be an adventure which you will remember for a lifetime!
