June 13, 2014 to June 22, 2014

Travel to Ethiopia, where Habitat for Humanity Ethiopia is helping to turn around a village. Your team will build healthy housing for families and make cracked walls and leaky roofs a thing of the past.

You’ll meet the family whose lives you are helping improve. You’ll also get an insider’s glimpse at how Habitat for Humanity Ethiopia is growing its groundbreaking work and serving more families than ever.

Our Ethiopian staff will introduce you to authentic local culture. The country is home to some of the best coffee in the world, and you’ll roast, grind, and brew beans during a traditional coffee ceremony. You’ll also meet lots of the neighbors and their kids as you work on the house.

Global Village sends volunteers to build with Habitat for Humanity projects across the world. Get your hands dirty on the worksite, meet the families whose housing situation you are improving, experience the country like an insider, and do it all alongside a team of like-minded volunteers. No experience required! This build is your next step with Habitat to make the world a better place.

Apply now to join this Global Village team, or email questions to team leader Katie Evans.

Katie’s favorite Global Village moment: “House dedication ceremonies are always memorable. At my first one, the partner family cried while thanking our team in their native language, although we had only completed a simple roof repair. It confirmed in my heart and mind the power of a Habitat volunteer. I am on staff, but that power is the reason I stay engaged in the field and not just in our office.”
