Getting an Education
Stay on Track

Increasing your income can ease the pressure of paying bills every month. A higher income will also allow you to afford a mortgage payment, which is usually higher than your monthly rent payment. Take a trip to the admissions office at a community college, college, or university in your area. Find out what education assistance programs it offers that could help you get on the education track. Talk to an admissions officer about your current skills, and what kind of courses will help you advance your employment options.

Ask your employer what on-the-job training programs it offers to either advance your skills or help you become qualified for a better-paying job.
