Owning a Home
What else do I need to know about owning a home?

When you move in to your Habitat home, you’ll receive a Habitat for Humanity Homeowners Handbook to help you take care of your home. You’ll also find some tips on how to be a good neighbor.

Being a good neighbor shows you care about others and can enhance your experience in your new Habitat home. New friendships, neighborhood activities and clubs, and street parties help build close-knit communities. Close-knit communities help keep your neighborhood safe and may even protect the value of your home. When you receive your handbook, check out the tips for:
• Taking care of your pet.
• Following zoning laws and homeowner group rules.
• Being a good neighbor.
