•	Order your free credit report if you haven’t done so.
•	Set a date to read it over and makes notes of any information that might be incorrect.
•	Ask a friend or mentor to read your credit report with you if you need help.
•	If you find errors on your plan, dispute them.
•	If you find requests for credit that you did not ask for or accounts you did not open, call one of the credit reporting agencies and request a fraud alert. The agency you call is required to contact the other two agencies about the alert. The other agencies will respond by placing fraud alerts on your credit reports.
