The CGAP* Working Group on Housing Finance for the Poor is a group of donors and practitioners collaborating to exchange lessons learned, best practices, ideas and innovations in the sector and, where possible, to collaborate and partner. The working group has met on several occasions in the past including the IFC Housing Finance conference in March and the World Urban Forum in June. More recently, a steering committee of donors met at the CGAP offices in March 2007 to determine an annual purpose and plan for the working group. The Working Group About us page discusses the groups objectives and goals. Habitat for Humanity is currently serving as the working group coordinator and secretariat, and therefore is hosting this Web page to facilitate the exchange. *CGAP (the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor) is a consortium of 33 public and private development agencies working together to expand access to financial services for the poor in developing countries.
