"Home is a place where you can always come back. You feel safe. It's a shelter and is indispensable to forming good relationships."
--Stasio Królikiewicz's father, Jacek

Building Houses ... and Happy Memories

Warsaw, Poland: When he grows up, 3-year-old Stasio Królikiewicz probably won't remember the days his family spent living in a cramped apartment. And this smile is all the validation his father, Jacek, needs to see in order to know that the family's future soon will be brighter. "Stas and the other children are playing with hammers and other objects, pretending they are using tools to build a house," he says. "The children are eagerly waiting for our new house. For them it's like a magic promise." That promise will be fullfilled in September, when the Królikiewicz family will move into their new Habitat house.

You can help families like Stasio's by supporting Habitat for Humanity. Donate today by using Habitat's secure on-line donation page. Thank you!
