Children living in squatter settlements are especially vunerable as they often are left unattended and face many dangers, including unsafe living conditions, malnutrition, disease and violence. Here, a child takes the only passage to his home in the south-central city of Goiania, Brazil, along a stream that also serves as the water source for a nearby cluster of shacks.
