Win a trip to the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project: The Mekong Build 2009

For a chance to join the ranks of former Habitat World essay contest winners Frann Anderson (India 2006), Amy Stark (Los Angeles 2007) and Kraig Koschnick (U.S. Gulf Coast 2008), tell us why you choose to support Habitat for Humanity.

By entering Habitat World’s Carter Work Project essay contest, you could win a trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand, to join hundreds of volunteers during this year’s Carter Work Project in November.

If your essay is selected, Habitat World will pay your air transportation and event fees, which include modest daily accommodations and meals. The winning essayist is expected to work a full day at the build site during each of the five work days, scheduled for Nov. 15-20.

The essay topic: In 500 words or less, give us your definition of “home” and describe why you choose to volunteer for and/or donate to Habitat for Humanity.

No forms are necessary; simply e-mail your essay to habitatworld@habitat.org or mail to Habitat World essay contest, 270 Peachtree St. NW, Suite 1300, Atlanta, GA, 30303. Please include your full name, address and phone number. All essays are due by midnight April 30, 2009, Eastern Daylight Time.

You must be at least 18 years old to participate. If selected, you will be responsible for obtaining the requisite immunizations and travel documents, including a visa and passport if necessary.
