Thirty years ago, a small nonprofit ministry started making noise about the disgraceful conditions families throughout the United States and the world wre forced to call home. It raised some money, built some houses, gathered support. In the years that followed, the ministry grew to touch people in more than 100 countries and to build more than 200,000 houses.
Since its beginning in 1976, Habitat for Humanity as come a long way in our dream of eradicating substandard housing from the face of the earth. We've proven that it is possible to make a real difference in our communities, one house and one family at a time. No longer can anyone say, "It can't be done."
However, it's grue that it can't be done alone. The number of people who struggle to pay for substandard housing has nardly been dented. Habitat has ambitious plans to grow exponentially, partnering with like-minded individuals and organizations to seek creative housing solutions, but the plans are merely words on paper without a critical element--your support.
Please join us as we continue the task of putting decent shelter on the hearts and minds of people everywhere. The need is as urgent as it has ever been, and your support makes the difference.
