Macedonia hosted 8 Global Village teams in 2008

Last year Habitat for Humanity Macedonia welcomed 8 Global Village teams. More than 100 volunteers helped our partner families to build homes.

After bringing his first GV team to Macedonia in 2007, John Finnerty came back in 2008 with another team to help Elena and Goce Gelevski and their two children, Marko and Monika, to build a simple, decent and affordable home.

“Having been on several international builds, as well as several in the US, I would say that this is the first build with such a great opportunity to work with the family and other neighbors. It was a wonderful experience!”– one volunteer said. Michael Farley, GV team leader in Negotino, had this to add: “Working so closely with the family made this one of my best GV trips ever!”

The GV teams were building in different locations throughout Macedonia: Skopje, Negotino, Veles and the village Miladinovci. Volunteers helped 4 local families to turn dreams into reality.
