Definitions for Sponsorship Cost


New House Sponsorship Cost: This is the full sponsorship cost for new construction (which is currently displayed as per availability). This is the full house or rehab sponsorship figured on the average cost of completing a new house and includes all program and administrative expenses associated with producing a full, complete house by the national entity plus the amount identified by HFHI for indirect cost recovery.

Incremental House Sponsorship Cost: The incremental house sponsorship cost is the average cost to the organization of providing an incremental housing solution and includes all program and administrative expenses associated with providing a family with an incremental housing solution plus the amount identified by HFHI for indirect cost recovery. The types of incremental programs are classified as follows:

  1. Renovation or Repair
  2. Home Loan (may be for repairs, improvements or land titling)
  3. Building in Stages
  4. Microfinance Partnership (loans given through MFI partnership)
