Mozambique — Resource Development and Communication Manager

Title: Resource Development and Communication manager
Location: Habitat for Humanity Mozambique office—Maputo, Mozambique
Term of service: 12–24 months

Assignment summary
This position reports to the Mozambique national director. The volunteer is responsible for developing and implementing resource mobilization and communication strategies that reflect and support HFH Mozambique’s strategic plan as a member of HFHMz’s senior leadership team.

Responsibilities
The volunteer will

• Develop a resource development strategy, with clear deliverables for capital and human resources needed.
• Represent Habitat for Humanity International Mozambique to the local, regional and international support base.
• Develop concept papers and persuasive proposals with project team and present proposals to donor agencies.
• Ensure donor reports are submitted timely and accurately by liaising with grant manager.
• Develop relationships with local, regional and international organizations that secure resources to deliver HFH Mozambique’s operational plans.
• Guide and support the development of HFH Mozambique as a viable and sustainable hosting program of local and international volunteers.
• Conceptualize, execute and manage special fundraising or advocacy events either as a HFH Mozambique initiative or in collaboration with corporate partners.
• Develop and deliver successful communication strategies.
• Improve the brand value and awareness of HFH Mozambique.
• With the national director, serve as a media spokesperson through HFHI-approved communications.
• Manage the development of bilingual promotional materials (e.g., brochures, pamphlets, business plans, evaluation reports, newsletters, etc.) and Web site; help ensure these communication venues include comprehensive data that reflects transparency, accountability and program impact.
• Develop and distribute the annual report, which includes annual financial and program audits with comprehensive program-impact data.

Requirements

• Fluent communication skills in English, both written and oral.
• College degree.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing people with diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to solve problems and think critically and creatively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (i.e., PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word) and Internet usage.
• Fluent communication skills in Portuguese, both written and oral.
• Experience working in multicultural environments and group management strongly preferred.
