OverviewThe Lao People's Democratic Republic, or Laos, is among the poorest countries in Asia. Poverty is concentrated in the rural areas where most people live. Across the country, more than half the population lacks access to clean water while nearly one-third of the people lack access to adequate sanitation facilities.
Carter Work Project volunteer teams in Laos helped with home repairs and renovations and improvements of water and sanitation facilities.
