Human Resources Staffing Volunteer

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is looking for an enthusiastic and service-minded volunteer to serve with our Human Resources department as a Staffing Support Volunteer. In this opportunity, you will play a part in supporting the process of successful candidate identification, selection and hiring in order to help recruit top talent into Habitat for Humanity International’s operations. Although this is not an opportunity on the “front lines” of serving families in need, you will have the opportunity to see how we build a strong workforce to support the overall mission vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
In order to maximize the impact of this assignment, we are seeking someone who can commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week for at least 3 months.
This assignment encompasses the following elements:
*Assisting members of the staffing team in assigned processes related to staffing department operations, including but not limited to helping review, format and post volunteer, internship and employment opportunities and assisting with advertising campaigns.
*Assisting with scheduling phone screens and interviews for selected candidates; following up with interviewers and candidates on any questions or concerns and providing answers within established policies and guidelines.
*Assisting with travel arrangements and logistics for candidates and departmental leadership as needed.
*Conducting assigned references on selected candidates and reviewing any concerns, inconsistencies or other issues with the appropriate recruiter.
*Responding to inquiries from Habitat managers and job seekers about current job vacancies.
*Providing staffing-related administrative support to team members as needed.
*1-2 years of experience in staffing, human resources and administrative support.
*Knowledge of state and federal employment laws, practices and procedures.
*Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
*Strong communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills.
*Ability to multi-task, managing multiple assignments, priorities and objectives simultaneously.
*Ability to work successfully with a large number and variety of clients and internal leadership.
*Must have computer competency in major Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel); Experience with HRIS-related software preferred.
