SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica (June 7, 2011)
– Amway, one of the world leaders in the direct sales industry, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, will help build adequate housing in the La Matanza neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina this September.

The project is part of a partnership with Habitat for Humanity to build adequate housing in 10 countries of Latin America, with volunteer support from Amway’s network of distributors and employees. In addition to Argentina, Amway will support housing construction and reparation projects in Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador and Costa Rica this year.

In February, Amway launched the Guatemala program, uniting more than 80 Amway and Habitat volunteers from various countries to build 12 houses in the community of Zacapa. In addition, Amway donated US$500,000 to Habitat for Humanity Guatemala for the construction of 43 houses in the next five years. Amway Distributor, Tim Foley and his e-Finity network contributed an additional US$250,000 to support the program.

“Amway, its employees and distributors, have a strong commitment to the region,” said Eduardo Casas, Director of Communications and Public Relations for Amway Latin America. “Through the Amway One by One Campaign for Children, the company seeks to help people improve their lives.”

Each Amway market will implement promotions to raise funds through its Web site, telephone orders and Amway stores.
