The 1997 Jimmy Carter Work Project: Hammering in the Hills is an Appalachian building project resulting in new houses for 150 families in need. Houses for the $7.75 million homeownership project will be constructed this summer through the efforts of the Habitat for Humanity 1997 Jimmy Carter Work Project and the Federation of Appalachian Housing Enterprises Partnership Build.
