At the end of the day Friday, volunteers at the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project in Haiti took off their tool belts and began the journey back to their real lives. Throughout the week of building, President Carter often referred to all the volunteers as "ambassadors," armed now with personal memories and firsthand details to take the case for affordable housing back home. The impact of the project doesn't end on the last day of the build — in some ways, it is just beginning. — Compiled by Teresa K. Weaver, Phil Kloer and Phillip Jordan
