It didn’t take long for Jonathan Reckford, Habitat for Humanity International’s new CEO, to get on a housebuilding site. Reckford, second from right in blue shirt, helps raise the walls on Habitat’s 200,000th house. The milestone house is being built in Knoxville, Tenn. When it is completed, one million people will be living in Habitat houses they helped to build and are buying. Reckford, who was named CEO Aug. 4, was on site for the wall-raising in Knoxville Aug. 6. At right in the photo is Habitat’s interim CEO Paul Leonard. To their right are volunteer builders who, like Habitat volunteers the world over, bring the commitment and sweat to help propel the Habitat ministry forward.
