CHIANG MAI, Thailand -- Mr. Chamlong Pipatsiri, the senior assistant head of Sansai District, opened Habitat for Humanity’s World Leaders Build ceremony in Chiang Mai, Thailand, on Monday, Aug. 6. Local volunteers joined students, school administrators, religious leaders, partner families and a Global Village team from U.S. to build at the site. Barbara Van Loon, a volunteer from Groningen, Holland, said "We feel very blessed to be able to share in the process of improving living conditions in Chiang Mai and the world."

A group of volunteers from Cargill (Siam) arrived in Chiang Mai on Thursday, Aug. 9, to participate in Thailand’s World Leaders Build. About 35 Cargill (Siam) employees built three Habitat houses with 21 volunteers from the U.S. Cargill is partnering with Habitat for Humanity Thailand to provide both financial and volunteer support for Habitat’s work in Chiang Mai.
