Homeowner sweeping her newly built house

The power within

Sometimes all a family needs to improve their lives and the lives of their community is a little help – a hand up.

Habitat for Humanity’s spiritual father Clarence Jordan said that struggling families need “not caseworkers but coworkers.” For nearly 40 years, Habitat volunteers and supporters have been those coworkers, working alongside families to build a better future and a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

In locations all around the world, Habitat volunteers see firsthand the transformations that occur — large and small — when individuals and neighborhoods find an avenue that positions them to be a part of their own solution.

Sometimes, change comes in the form of a new or improved house where a family can live a healthier life. Sometimes, it’s a revitalized community where kids can be safe and grow up with stability and security. Always, it’s the result of the work we do together.
