HFHI Donates Computers to Organizations

Computers Donated To Organizations By Habitat For Humanity International

Americus, Ga.- Jan. 12, 2000

What: As a result of changing from a Macintosh operating system to a PC operating system, Habitat for Humanity International has a surplus of computer equipment to be donated to nonprofit organizations, charities, churches and schools. More than 200 computer processing units (CPU’s), more than 130 monitors and more than 30 laptops will be distributed.

Who: Habitat For Humanity International will meet with members from the organizations, charities, churches and schools to distribute the equipment. A list of the groups receiving the donated computer equipment is below.

When: Distribution will start at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 12 and run through Friday, Jan 14.

Where: Clarence Jordan Center, 121 Habitat St., Americus, Ga. (IS Inventory Center)

“We feel blessed to have the opportunity to donate our surplus computers to other non-profit organizations and ministries in Sumter County,” said David Williams, Senior Vice President of Administration, Habitat for Humanity International. “We have been fortunate enough to change our operating system and now we want to give other organizations the chance to further their own missions through the use of a computer they might otherwise not have been able to obtain.”
