Habitat for Humanity International Joins the Mills Corp. in Five-Year “More Than Houses” Partnership

AMERICUS, Ga., Nov. 14–Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) joins The Mills Corporation (NYSE: MLS) in announcing a five-year corporate partnership agreement with HFHI’s “More Than Houses” capital campaign.

A developer of retail and entertainment destinations, The Mills Corporation will contribute a minimum of $200,000 a year during the five-year partnership for a total $1 million contribution, earmarked for building modest, affordable houses in markets where a Mills retail or entertainment center is located. The Mills Corporation and its centers also will assist in raising funds and awareness through Mills marketing programs, kiosks, Mills TV, and tie-ins to Mills’ “A Place to Grow” and UpSprouts children’s programs.

The Mills Corporation is an innovative real estate owner, developer and manager of top consumer destinations and shopping center properties noted for large-scale, imaginative design, sales productivity, and collection of unique retail, entertainment, recreation and dining experiences. The partnership agreement marks a consolidation of support and contributions from The Mills Corporation, which has partnered with Habitat for Humanity International on projects in the past. The Mills already has donated funds for a Habitat house in Gwinnett County, Ga., where Discover Mills mall is located, as well as in Lakewood, Colo., site of the newest Mills’ property, Colorado Mills.
