HSNi builds local relationship into national fundraising campaign for Habitat for Humanity

HSN, Ballard Designs, TravelSmith and Improvements collaborate to raise funds and awareness in June

St. Petersburg, Fla. (June 1, 2015) — As HSN breaks ground on its fifth Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County home, HSNi Cares, the philanthropic arm of HSN’s parent company HSN Inc., today launched a national monthlong campaign in support of Habitat for Humanity International.

Together, HSN, Ballard Designs, TravelSmith and Improvements will promote Habitat’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Customers from these brands will have the opportunity to make a donation in support of the campaign when making purchases online and over the phone from June 1-30.

“A culture of generosity is at the heart of everything we do and our HSNi team is committed to giving back to its communities through impactful initiatives, like our annual Habitat for Humanity build,” said Bill Brand, president, HSN. “We are thrilled to be able to grow our partnership with Habitat even more and take the passion that our employees have experienced during our local builds and apply it towards a national campaign that generates widespread awareness and funds in support of this organization.”

As part of the campaign, HSN will donate 5 percent of all purchases made on the HSN Credit Card on June 1 to Habitat for Humanity, up to 50,000. Additionally, Ballard Designs, Improvements and TravelSmith will raise awareness and funds for Habitat among their customers.

In the United States alone, 45.3 million people are living in poverty. Contributions received in June will help Habitat continue to build, rehabilitate, repair and improve simple, decent homes in partnership with low-income families.

“Habitat for Humanity is able to partner with low-income families in creating affordable housing due to the tremendous support of partners like HSN,” said Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity International. “We are grateful to HSN, Ballard Designs, TravelSmith and Improvements for engaging their customers in support of our mission and the families Habitat serves.” HSNi employees each receive two days of paid time off for community service annually. HSNi employees volunteer more than 26,000 hours in the community each year. For more information about the HSN Cares Habitat for Humanity campaign, visit www.hsn.com (keyword HSN Cares).
