The AMES Companies forms partnership with Habitat for Humanity

CAMP HILL, Pa. (June 2, 2015) — The AMES Companies, Inc. announced today a multi-layered partnership with Habitat for Humanity to support the organization through funding, in-kind donations and employee volunteer efforts.

As a named recipient of funds from the AMES Charitable Foundation, Habitat for Humanity will receive construction funding, tools for construction and repair projects and support for the Habitat Mobile Response Units used by Habitat affiliates during disaster response efforts.

Additionally, The AMES Companies will sponsor two community gardens in the U.S. in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity’s Neighborhood Revitalization and provide volunteer support for three homebuilding events in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, area located near the AMES headquarters. One of the volunteer homebuilding events took place in Harrisburg in early May and the remaining two will be scheduled. The Harrisburg builds, as well as the donated funds, are specifically intended to support veterans and their families.

“With a lineage that dates back to 1774, AMES tools have been essential in building America, from major monuments that define our country to the homes we live in today,” said Mike Sarrica, president of The AMES Companies, Inc. “We are proud to honor our shared values with Habitat for Humanity as we build and revitalize our neighbors’ homes across the country through this partnership.”

“We are grateful to The AMES Companies for their support,” said Larry Gluth, senior vice president, U.S. and Canada, Habitat for Humanity International. “This donation will help Habitat affiliates continue to support and serve their communities.”

This partnership, combined with a 2011 donation during Hurricane Sandy disaster recovery efforts, marks more than 1 million provided by AMES in support of Habitat for Humanity and its affiliates across the U.S.
