Minwax donation to Habitat for Humanity aims to give back to communities and bring beauty to the homes of families across the country

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J. (July 7, 2015) – Minwax, a manufacturer of wood finishing and wood care products, has announced a gift-in-kind donation of Minwax products to Habitat for Humanity. The donation, worth 850,000 in retail value, has been distributed to 13 different Habitat for Humanity ReStore resale outlets in 11 states.

Habitat ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, home goods, building materials and appliances at a fraction of the retail price, helping local Habitat for Humanity affiliates fund the construction, rehabilitation or repair of affordable homes within the communities they serve. The proceeds generated from Minwax’s donation of cleaning products and mop applicators for cleaning hardwood floors are used to further Habitat for Humanity’s larger mission of building homes, communities and hope.

“Minwax is proud to support Habitat for Humanity and its mission of bringing people together to build not only physical houses, but also deeply personal experiences that impact how we live our lives,” said Jacquelyn Ferrara, director of marketing at Minwax and Formby’s. “With our contribution, we hope to afford Habitat for Humanity homeowners, business owners, contractors or builders an opportunity to personally create or revive something beautiful and, in the process, give them a sense of pride for making a difference.”

Minwax’s donation will be put to use for programs that serve low-income families and build the capacity of Habitat for Humanity’s work globally.
