This week’s post marks a milestone for the Habitat World blog — our 150th entry.
We’ve had a grand time working our way up to this moment. From the beginning, we’ve done our very best to create a space for Habitat stories from every aspect of the organization’s work and to use the very best words to do so: yours.
It’s fitting, then, that our latest offering highlights an exciting build happening this week with lots of individual storytelling potential.
Beginning this Wednesday, 125 volunteers from Discovery Communications are joining Habitat for Humanity for Discovery Impact: Rebuilding Atlantic City. The assembled volunteers — several of them familiar faces — will rehab and repair up to 15 homes alongside families displaced by flooding from Superstorm Sandy.
So much work remains to be done in the wake of such a destructive storm, and it’s wonderful to have these extra hands to install drywall and sheetrock, to paint — and to tweet.
