In April and May, 2011, the central United States was hit by multiple disasters:

• Violent storms and tornadoes across the south and Midwest.
• A devastating tornado in Joplin, Mo.
• Heavy rains and record flooding along the Mississippi River.

Hundreds of people were killed, neighborhoods were flooded and entire communities were destroyed. Thousands were left homeless.

Habitat for Humanity International is supporting local Habitat affiliates in the Midwest and Southeastern regions that are helping families recover from tornado and flood damage.
